terralayr’s next grid-scale battery energy storage project is Ready to Build!
This 15 MW / 30 MWh battery storage system in Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, has secured all necessary approvals, paving the way for construction to begin soon.
This one is particularly exciting as this is the first asset fully developed to Ready-to-Build status by Big Battery Deutschland - terralayr’s greenfield development Joint Venture with Averdung Ingenieure & Berater GmbH.
The even better news: a second asset developed by Big Battery Deutschland is already Ready to Build as well - more to follow in the next post.
We are proud to see how Big Battery Deutschland has progressed under Hendrik Büchner's leadership since we started this journey together only about 1.5 years ago. Coming from zero to a pipeline of more than 1GW, with several projects now at or near Ready to Build is a very impressive achievement and a strong testament to our greenfield development approach.
Each new battery storage facility is a crucial step towards a more resilient, renewable-powered energy system. Like our other BESS assets, this project will be integrated into our flexibility platform, our proprietary Route To Market solution enabling access to flexibility-on-demand, including long-term virtual tolling agreements.
A special thanks also go to Westnetz and the city of Osnabrück their great collaboration.
Stay tuned for more!
